Come Find Us at the Newport Boat Show

·Daniel Martinez, Martingale Marine

Boat show week is almost here. September 17–20 we’ll be at the end of Commercial Wharf again, Land E according to the program — same corner as last year, just across the way.

Most booths at the show want to sell you something to bolt onto your boat. We want to show you what’s happening on it.

This year we’re bringing the Martingale platform to the dock so you can try it yourself. Bring a soft copy of your latest survey (a PDF on your phone is fine) and we’ll build your vessel record while you stand there: the systems aboard, the service history, and a maintenance schedule that fits your boat instead of a generic checklist. Ten minutes. You leave with something useful whether or not you ever call us.

Martingale Member? Enjoy free tickets to the boat show courtesy of Martingale. Just email me how many you need and I’ll send them right away.

Can’t make it to Newport? You can do the same thing from your couch: try the vessel record builder.

If you’ve already got a winter work list building, bring that too. We can talk about what belongs on it and who should be doing it.

Save the date: Thursday, October 1

Boats are getting dropped from insurance left and right. Some for unaddressed survey items, some just for being old. On October 1 at 7 PM I’m hosting a free seminar at Edgewood Yacht Club with Jon Liguori of HILB Group on keeping your boat insurable. More on that after the show. For now, put it on the calendar and start looking for your survey.

See you on the wharf.

Daniel
