About

One person who knows boats — looking after yours.

Martingale isn’t a call center, an app, or a boatyard. It’s me — and a standard I don’t bend on. I keep the list of boats short so the attention stays real.

The background

I’ve spent my career around boats — years as a professional sailor, and time in boatbuilding and rigging shops learning how they’re actually put together. That’s the part most owners never get to see, and it’s exactly the part that tells you whether a job was done right or just done.

What I kept noticing was the same quiet problem, boat after boat: good owners buried in coordination. Chasing the yard for a status. Getting an invoice for work they didn’t understand. Watching a launch date slip with no one really accountable. The boat had stopped being the fun part and become a second job.

Boats like that used to have a captain — someone who knew the vessel cold, caught the small things early, knew who to call and could tell when the work met the mark. Most owners don’t have that person anymore. Martingale is my answer to that: your captain, ashore, holding the whole thing to the standard it deserves.

How it works

Simple for you. Rigorous behind the scenes.

01

I learn the boat

Every system, its history, its quirks — written down, not carried around in someone's head. That record is the foundation everything else stands on.

02

I line up the right people

The right tradesperson for the job, briefed properly, with the boat's history in hand — so they arrive prepared and the work is done once, done right.

03

I manage the work

Scheduling, follow-through, checking the work against the standard, keeping your dates. You get an update, not a pile of invoices to decode.

04

I stay ahead of it

The routine things happen on a schedule, before they become emergencies. When something does go wrong, you make one call and I take it from there.

What you can count on

  • I work for you, not the yard.

Fair, transparent pricing — I show you what I pay, and when I negotiate a better price, you share in the savings. My job is the boat being right, not selling you work it doesn't need.

  • Straight answers.

I'll tell you plainly what a boat does and doesn't need — including when the answer is "leave it alone."

  • One point of contact.

The same person who knows your boat is the person who answers the phone. No rotating cast, no re-explaining.
